About us

Dr Aleksandra Twardowska-Czerwińska, PhD the founder of the Patent and Trademark Attorney Office Biopatent, established in 2004. She specialises in the life sciences, especially in chemistry, pharmacy and biotechnology. With over 20 years of experience, she represents Polish and foreign clients in all fields of intellectual property. She focuses on developing strategies for the protection of intellectual property rights, obtaining rights, as well as opposition and nullity proceedings.

Aleksandra Twardowska-Czerwińska, Polish and European patent attorney, graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań with a master’s degree in environmental chemistry. In 2003, she earned her doctorate at the Agricultural University in Poznań (food technology, specialisation: biotechnology). Simultaneously, in 2002, she graduated the Study of Patent Attorneys at the Polish Chamber of Patent Attorneys, including: Postgraduate Studies in Intellectual Property Law at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow and Postgraduate Studies for Patent Attorneys in Warsaw. In 2002, she became a Polish patent attorney, and in 2004 she’s been registered on the roll of European patent attorneys, authorised to represent clients before the European Patent Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). She expanded her knowledge in the field of intellectual property rights as a USDA’s Cochran Fellowship at Michigan State University, United States Patent and Trademark Office Alexandria, Plant Variety Protection Office, USDA, Beltsville, USA, and at the Max-Planck-Institut for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law, Munich. She gives lectures, trainings and workshops on industrial property rights. She’s also a member of the Polish Chamber of Patent Attorneys, Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi), national delegate of the Union IP and member of the Life Sciences Committee of UNION-IP.
